2014 so far

Before we get to 2014 here are some photos of our  Stob family Christmas.

In 2014 we've seen a lot of changes with Paisley. She is definitely on the move now as she is crawling all over the house. She is also able to pull herself up on things that are low enough for her, unfortunately the toilet is one of those things. It really changes how we function in the house since she can now follow us into places like the bathroom and find things that we never had to think about before- charger cords being a favorite.

She is also becoming somewhat of a garbage disposal for us as she eats some strange combinations of food- puréed lentils, rice, squash, green beans, tomatoes, pasta being a sample of them. We've found that adding enough applesauce to anything will make it all go away.

Paisley is quite the talker as well. She loves trying to make words and explore her voice. Her favorite word is definitely doggy except the g's don't come out to clearly yet. But whenever she hears or sees a dog she is able to say it. She also says dada, mama, teddy, nigh nigh and probably many other words that we cannot quite understand yet. She also has waving bye bye and doing "so big" down so its fun to see her brain soak up everything that we try to teach her.

Its been a cold, snowy winter here in Grand Rapids as it has been in many other places. We've been sledding in our backyard with Paisley and she loves it.  We also went cross county skiing with Bethany's family in northern Michigan last month. Unfortunately, that weekend was the warmest of the year as it rained part of the time so it wasn't ideal for skiing but we still had a good time with family.

The other big change this year that doesn't involve Paisley is Bethany starting to teach a social work course at Cornerstone University. Yes, my wife is a professor! Its been a learning process for her but she has handled it very well especially while still working full-time in hospice. The class meets once per week on Tuesday nights for about 3 hours. It is a long period of time to fill so that has been a challenge of how much material to try to include.
