who knew that working 40hrs a week could be so consuming.
its learning to seek and hear God in the midst of a demanding schedule, commuting, relationships and managing "life."
"life" encompasses all the responsibilities of living (grocery shopping, laundry, cleaning, etc.)
its a new year. i cannot begin to write all our reflections of 2010 and the places we've been.
january 2010: we decided to begin transitioning out of zambia and preparing to hand over our work. we had no idea where we would be but we knew it was time...
june/july 2010: brought us "home."
august 2010: found us living and working in west michigan.
december 2010: we were finally getting a handle on our new jobs, roles and responsibility.
january 2011: we learning to problem solve a freezing cold apartment (plastic on the windows! actually this just what we worked on tonight, so its fresh in my mind).
each season and step arrived through prayer and some fasting. while we rapidly approach 1 year back in the USA i am thankful that the lessons learned in zambia persist and remain. we still realize we are just fragile jars of clay and we need God's help with everything we do. we still know little about the future, leaving it a foggy path yet to be determined, but for now we have learned to wait upon God in prayer and fasting. to ask him to be a lamp unto our feet and the light unto our path.
in this new year may God be the light on your feet showing you the path set ahead.
